How to Get from Split Airport to Hvar

If you're flying into Split and continuing to Hvar, your journey has two parts. First, you'll travel from Split Airport to the ferry port, then cross to the island by catamaran to Hvar Town or ferry to Stari Grad.

Once you arrive on Hvar, our private transfer will take you directly from the port to your accommodation, whether you're staying in Hvar Town, Stari Grad, Jelsa, Vrboska, Zavala or anywhere else on the island.

Getting from Split Airport to the Ferry Port

Split Airport is located in Kaštela, around 25 kilometres from Split's ferry terminal and passenger catamaran port.

The quickest and easiest option is a taxi or private airport transfer, taking you directly to your ferry or catamaran without changing transport.

If you're travelling on a budget, the airport shuttle bus runs to the main bus station next to the ferry terminal. It's a convenient choice if you have enough time between your flight and your departure.

There's also a local bus, although it's slower and usually only worth considering if you're travelling light and aren't in a hurry.

During the summer, always allow more time than you think you'll need. Traffic into Split can be heavy, and catamarans leave exactly on schedule without waiting for delayed passengers.

Catamaran or Ferry to Hvar?

If you're travelling without a car, a catamaran from Split is usually the best option. During the season, passenger catamarans operate to both Hvar Town and Stari Grad, so it's worth checking which arrival port is closer to your accommodation.

If you're bringing a car, you'll need the Split to Stari Grad port, the island's main vehicle ferry connection.

Arriving by Catamaran in Hvar Town

The catamaran arrives on Hvar's waterfront, just steps from the old town. Since the historic centre is pedestrian only, we'll meet you at the dock and drive you to the closest accessible point to your hotel or apartment.

Arriving by Ferry in Stari Grad

The ferry terminal is a few kilometres outside Stari Grad itself. If you're continuing to Hvar Town, Jelsa, Vrboska, Zavala, Ivan Dolac or anywhere else on the island, your driver will be waiting at the port to take you directly to your accommodation.
